Ways To Create A Successful Landing Page
While it is very difficult to get people to come to your website, it is almost equally difficult to keep them there. Like with everything else, first impressions are everything. Therefore it is crucial that you make your website the best that it can be right from the homepage. Keeping it simple, giving the information that they are looking for, and offering them incentives are great ways to increase your landing pages success. Remember the following tips when designing your webpage.
Don’t Overwhelm
Your website’s landing page needs to be attractive yet not overdone. If it contains too many images and graphics it may overwhelm your customers and force them to leave. At the same time, large graphics and images take away from what the users are trying to find. Remember, your customers are there for your exceptional products and service, not your cool looking graphics. At the same time, refrain from using sounds and movies because it will only annoy and slow down your customers.
Give them what they Want
If the advertisement that they clicked on was for gold fish, make sure that it takes them to a page that sells goldfish. People who click are your advertisements expect to go directly to the product, and not waste time with other items that they do not want. That being said, make sure your landing page is relevant to whatever product that you are advertising. Also adding a search feature will allow users to directly find what they are looking for.
Offer Incentives
Offering Incentives such as free contests and giveaways are a great way to keep and retain customers to your site because they have to come back to check if they have won or sign up for your email newsletter. This method works great because even if they do not win the prize they still probably will come back to your site and browse some of your products.
Creating an effective landing page is perhaps the most important part of web design. Just like when meeting new people, the first impression of a website sticks with people. And if your website is not designed well, chances are people will not come back to visit your website.
